Project Manager Heavy Maintenance (f/m/d)
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership and delivering results. You bring a strong technical background combined with a practical, solution-oriented mindset. With your experience, you feel confident managing complex maintenance projects and working closely with a variety of stakeholders.
WHAT WOULD KEEP YOU BUSY
- Lead complex overhaul and maintenance projects end-to-end, taking full ownership of planning, execution, budget, and quality outcomes
- Own and drive the full procurement lifecycle - from supplier selection and tendering to defining scopes, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts
- Capture and apply supplier insights and lessons learned to continuously enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve fleet reliability
- Conduct thorough asset inspections before and after maintenance to define required works and ensure all activities are completed in full compliance with technical specifications
- Manage contractual delivery and acceptance processes while ensuring maintenance records and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant
- Prepare high-quality internal approval documentation and deliver clear, concise monthly project reporting to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the ECM2 Manager, legal, commercial, and fleet teams
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
- Bring your expertise with a degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
- At least three years of experience in engineering or project management, including maintenance projects, preferably within the rail industry
- Strong technical expertise with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges in a professional manner
- Good understanding of legal, financial, and commercial aspects
- Fluent in English, with a basic knowledge of French; any other European language is a plus

To support the continued growth of our Passenger business in Germany and across Europe, we are looking for a Junior Commercial Manager to join our Commercial Team in Cologne. Contribute to the development and growth of Alpha Trains’ Passenger business in Germany and EU markets by supporting the Passenger Commercial Team in the Cologne office in leasing activities for the existing passenger fleet and new-build projects, including offer preparation, commercial analysis, and coordination with technical and finance functions.
- Market Research: Conduct structured market research on EU passenger rail markets, regulatory developments, funding programs, and financing structures for rolling stock to support strategic decision‑making.
- Bid Management: Analyze tender specifications, prepare commercial inputs, help structure high‑quality bid documentation, and take ownership of defined work packages within tender processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Customer, Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, advisors, and internal stakeholders to support smooth project execution and ongoing account management.
- Governance: Contribute to internal approval processes and reporting, ensuring compliance with internal policies and decision-making procedures.
- Product & Business Development: Actively contribute ideas to refine product offerings, commercial processes, and operational procedures to enhance competitiveness and customer value.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM

WHAT WOULD KEEP YOU BUSY
In this newly created role we are looking for someone who is analytical, precise, proactive, and comfortable working with complex data and international stakeholders.
- Record, value, and capitalize rolling stock assets including sub‑components, WIP projects, transfers, disposals, and impairments
- Review and process invoices, purchase orders, handover protocols, and project documentation in line with IFRS and local GAAP
- Maintain the Fixed Asset module in D365 and ensure accurate postings across projects, cost categories, and financial dimensions
- Prepare and reconcile depreciation, NBV analyses, and impairment calculations; support monthly, semi‑annual, and annual closing activities
- Act as a key contact for auditors and internal stakeholders while contributing to process improvements and data quality initiatives
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification
- Solid knowledge of IFRS (especially IAS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 16) and practical experience in fixed asset accounting
- Confident user of ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365; strong Excel skills, Power BI is an advantage
- Structured, precise, and independent working style with strong attention to detail
- Excellent command of English; German language skills are an asset
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; German language skills are an asset, as our documentation and some stakeholder communications may occur in German.
