Alpha Trains further expands its activities in France
Alpha Trains signs a long-term leasing contract with Aproport
Paris, 27.10.2020 - Alpha Trains, Continental Europe’s largest lessor of locomotives and trains, has signed a long-term contract with Aproport, manager of multimodal port platforms based in Burgundy, for the lease of two G1206 locomotives. Aproport, which is managed by the Saône-et-Loire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), has been using the locomotives on the multimodal port platforms between Mâcon and Chalon-sur-Saône since last June. The leasing contracts were awarded following a public call for tenders.
„We have been able to convince Aproport thanks to our competitive leasing rates and tailor-made leasing solutions and we are proud to count Aproport as a customer”, said Fernando Pérez, General Manager of Alpha Trains Locomotives division. Alpha Trains′ G1206 have been on lease in France since 2002, and the leasing company opened a subsidiary in Paris, France in 2018.
Alpha Trains has a large fleet of diesel locomotives, the latest of which in France are equipped with new technologies to reduce emissions and maintenance costs. The powerful G1206 locomotives are suitable for demanding services that require, among other things, the traction of 900 tons on a ramp that has a 23 per mille gradient in Mâcon, where Aproport is constantly in operation.
