Strong commitment to sustainability
Alpha Trains joins UN Global Compact
Luxembourg, 6th December 2021 - By joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) as a signatory member, Alpha Trains Group strengthens its commitment to sustainability. Members of the initiative regularly report on their sustainability activities and reaffirm their pledge to environment, society and governance.
The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative that supports global companies with the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. As a member, Alpha Trains will be bound by ten universal principles derived from the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
"Joining the UNGC is a significant milestone for Alpha Trains as part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.” says Shaun Mills, CEO of Alpha Trains. “We expect the membership to give us valuable momentum and allow us to benefit from best practices and network with other UN Global Compact participants straight away.”
"We are proud to be part of this well-known alliance and to actively contribute to a more sustainable economy." adds Carsten Schnurpfeil, Sustainability Manager of Alpha Trains.
More than 13,000 companies and organizations from over 160 countries have already joined the UN Global Compact, which was founded in 2000.
